“Europe and Italy” it’s a flash animation made by Bruno Bozetto. This flash animation or this animate cartoon can be found on the web, most precisely on http://www.infonegocio.com/xeron/bruno/italy.com or on Bruno Bozetto’s site, www.bozzetto.com.
Bruno was born in Milano, Italy, in 1938; he produced three animated feature films “West& Soda”, “Vip my brother superman”, “Allegro non troppo” and many animated shorts. He has been awarded many prizes among which the Golden Bear to “Mister Tao” at the Berlin Film Festival in 1990 and the Oscar nomination to “Grasshoppers” in 1991. Together with Piero Angela he has also directed a hundred animated shorts of educational scientific matter. Bruno Bozzetto’s best known character is Mister Rossi. Since 2000 he has been devoting his time to flash animations for the web gaining great success.
This flash animation shows us this difference between Italy and the rest of Europe; it shows in a very humorous way the differences between the Italian behavior and the European one. The cartoon is divided in different ways of behavior; we can divide those subjects on groups. First of all we have respect of traffic’s rules, than a group of sciences politic and finally current life.
Respect of traffic’s rules groups ” highway, parking 1 and 2, pedestrian crossing, road signals and bus”. This part of the flash show us that the European respect all the rules, for example, on the pedestrian crossing subject, the cars wait for the pedestrian to cross the line, in the Italian side, the Italian pedestrian before crossing the line observe if there are cars coming, and when he tried to cross the route a car almost run over him, the pedestrian insult the car, in the end, the pedestrian can’t cross the route because of the cars, they don’t respect the pedestrian.
Than we have the second group, sciences politics. In this group are the subjects, elections, politics and bureaucracy. In this branch of the movie we can see how the Italian people are messed up. The bureaucracy it’s very complicated and in the end they didn’t get what they wanted. This group demonstrates the complexity of the politic and let everybody see the absence of opinion, because in the movie when one of the candidates wins everyone chooses this one. The European’s bureaucracy is simple, and they have they own opinion. And finally, the last group, ”current life”. Here it’s expose the organization, the different tastes and the behavior on publics places.
